E-reader/Tablet hate is so unjustified
I do not get the fucking hate over e-readers and tablets from die-hard fans of the printed word. It's as if they won't allow a universe where the two co-exists.Here's the thing... Reading is my escape hence, I do it obsessively. I read an average of 4 books a week. Last year, I even finished 270 books according to Goodreads. A book is not cheap. Specially if your only source of money is your parents. I usually read mainstream books which are essentially pricey. Let's say an average book cost $10 and that's already being very conservative given the Haruki Murakami book in Strand was marked down for $15. 270 books x $10 = $2700 2700 dollars is already 2 semesters worth of tuition in DLSU. NOPE! I won't be a freaking snob and hate over e-readers because they're "killing books". I'm not saying I hate the printed word, I buy books. I am in love with buying poetry books because the text arrangement of poems is something the e-reader cannot capture. But c'mon people... hating over e-readers is stupid. Sure if you read 10 books (scoffs) a year, an e-reader is illogical. But you don't fucking get the burden of a TRUE bookworm who'll get broke if we dive into your books over e-reader craze.
