Makati CBD on a Holiday
So I had work on the past two holiday - Maundy Thursday and Good Friday - (no, I don't work in a call center) and it's sort of a mix of awesome and hassle. Well one, the roads are pretty much empty so the traffic was barely existent. But this is because public utility vehicles are on a holiday too and only a handful of routes have buses and jeeps. I was lucky enough that a route (albeit not my usual one) had buses coming in but it still meant I had to walk 4 kms a day because I'm cheap and I don't want to take the taxi. Food stalls are also closed and since my dad didn't have work, my mom didn't find it necessary to prepare my lunch so I had to scavenge for open fast food store. Despite everything, it was a pretty cool day. We get to wear comfy clothes at work and we're paid more than twice. And I get to see the beauty of Makati Central Business District without people and cars. |
